Thought of the day

Attended a Career talk organized by CUMEC today. This is the first time i didnt doze off or lose concentration during a talk. The talk was by an engineer from Ranhill-Worley, Mr. Chow. He delivered his speech in a humorous way and most importantly, he provided information that we are really interested to know. Finally I have some brief idea what field am going to venture into after i graduate.

I was not really passionate about being a Mechanical Engineer in the future until I was introduced to HSE engineering today.Yes yes yes, I'm totally passionate when it involves the environment and i love everything that is connected in any way to the environment. Mr. Chow who has worked many years in the Oil and Gas Industry also mentioned that it is a field which will be greatly in demand for the next few years. "Who knows, one day engineers might need to cut down on development instead of keep developing in order to save the environment.", he said.

The other field which sounds interesting to me is the management or manufacturing field. There are heaps of manufacturing companies in Penang but for environment related firms, perhaps i will only have the opportunity if i am willing to work in Singapore as i've never heard of such firms in Penang. One thing for sure, I was never interested in the designing field so i could never work for a consulting firm.

All these means that, i will still have chance to get a job i like in the future! Hopefully i really get the chance to involve myself in environment related jobs. Although i'm not sure will it be as fun as what i've imagined but, success or failure isn't that important and what really counts is the experience, right, peeps?

Yayness

Midterms are over and i feel like i'm done with finals! Is that what a third year student should feel?

Felt really good today after my last midterm paper! Spent my night so well catching up with my parents and buddy over skype. YAY! My work for Industrial Technology Lab Report shall commence tomorrow!!

One thing i've learnt today is:

When you think you're doing it the right way, other people might not think so. Sometimes, stop and listen to what people think of you and consider their opinions seriously.

Updates!

First time blogging as a third year student here :D

Down with another midterm paper today, which i did not perform well. Its my fifth semester in Uni and i guess i have gotten use to the stress. I dislike myself not focusing in studies especially being distracted by Facebook, Twitter or Instagram notifications. Half of this semester gone, and i am still in blur mode. I know that i need more discipline. God have been treating me good enough by letting me pass my past four semesters. I am more than halfway done, and i should really improve my focusing ability in order to succeed. Thus, blogging will be one of my leisure activity(again) from now on. I loved writing and reading so i'm picking up this habit again! This came across my mind while in Thermal class today(thus showing my inability to focus again)- I believe there are times you have loads of ideas in mind but you never speak it out or bring it into action. They said "Ideas will always be ideas until you put them into ACTION.". This is the quote i will live by for the rest of this semester. Buddy Jing sent me this about a week ago and i'd like to share it with y'all

Its really meaningful, at our (teen)age, we should get up, get out and enjoy every moment of life while we can. Studying is just a minor part in life, do your best and do not worry too much about it.
